Good Gals? Part 2

As a female character, Vibe probaly looks something like Ellen DeGeneres or Sharon Stone... a female with a really stylish short blonde do lol. but that's all particular.
Changing Vibe to a female again opens up a lot of new ground for me. I did consider keeping the name Vibe, but then I thought about other names like Cadense or Harmony. I'm looking into the Greek Muses now to see about the musical and lyrical Muses for identity inspiration too.
The biggest opportunity I see now is to tap this musical industrialist/engineer anlge I have had in mind for a while. It is probably the biggest reason I would have for rewriting Vibe as a female character.
See I like for example, Tony Stark, and his ingenuity machine-wise. But I don't think we have read this or seen this in a woman character before. Machines are awesome sure, and it would be easy to just write a woman like Marvel's Tony Stark and make her make incredible machines and be the jealousy of other industrialists the world over. But then I considered the musical angle and that's when it hit me. Just as technology bombards us with iPhones and MP3s and stuff, music does the same thing with new sounds, artists, concepts and mediums everyday too!
People everywhere are looking for the next big thing, the next big star, song or musical device. Music can sometimes be just as industrial and opportunistic as manufacuring new machines.
And even though music is unisexual, we all know many female musicians and the impact they have on culture: Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Rhianna, Nicki Minaj... even Willow Smith! They set trends, inspire dances and costumes and plain inspire, wow and/or intimidate with their ambitions. So I think Vibe, as a woman and with more of a musical background, could really turn out nice so long as I follow this direction.
Like Patrice Rushen and others, Vibe was a child prodigy in the area of music. I imagined her being talented in various instruments and a quick study in diverse musical theories. So when she grows up she would a well respected and sought after musical composer, a lot like Quincey Jones also. But at some point in her youth she discovers she has powers.
So Vibe would struggle with balancing a life in music and a life where she crosses paths with unique people with similar powers and experiences. I feel strongly about writing Vibe as a female now with this direction in mind. Again it doesn't hang on the hero being a female to be in music but to me it feels very relatable and could be very interesting to read if I did it right.
I am very interested in the possibility of treating her musical discoveries a lot like the discoveries Iron Man makes in weapons and energy. I am not entirely sure on how to do that or how the context would fit or be altered in this comic but I want to try and see where the adventure takes her.
As always this is a work in progress. A lot of this may sound really whack, truth be told. But I am all about the process, and feeling out every corner of this character as best and honestly as I can.
Ok and that's the skinny on Hero Revamp #2. #3 will be here soon.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all the bloggers out there.

Three Minutes After Midnight ;]
Yeah the title to this post is a wink to the Justice song One Minute to Midnight, which might be my favorite Justice song. BTW I can't wait for their sophomore album to drop.
Anyway. This post is about Scripped.com and writing.
So yeah I'm in a writing mood... maybe even a frenzy right now. I finalized the scripts for my teams group presentation, yes via Scripped.com. I thought I'd impress my friends that way, especially this one team mate who is into filmwriting and production like me lol. I don't know if she has heard of Scripped.com though so we'll see.
So those two school scripts are my first ever completed and copywritten screenplays on the site, better yet anywhere.
So excited!
Then after that I decided to finally go back to the saved portion of Serlyng and the Courtier, which I have renamed simply The Courtier, and get that decent. Well I did! I actually made that script look official. Its still got some more kinks to work out but after I was done I just had to download the PDF and its so cool. Its got my username, the date, "Copywrite" on it and the works ^_^
So even though I am not done-done with it, I feel like I'm very far along with it. And it was my first ever script in life so its very important to me to get it right.
So now I am about to catch some Zzzs but i am so proud and thnakful to have some work done filmwise. Now I have to return to another saved half of a script on the site I have been working on for a while. Only difference between that and The Courtier is that I was able to import my first script but this newer one I am writing on the site from scratch. That's fun but it's a a bit of a drag. But I'll get it done. Its a pretty brief story, written in my parrallel worlds style as usual haha.
And after that one is complete I can get to work on Aviators. Though that will take precidence over the other script, I wanna finsh it and then make sure I have enough dialogue to marry with the actiona I have in craploads.
But this is very encouraging and a small step to mastery and I can't wait to get more writting done on the site. Gotta work on a comicbook format too!
Ok I am yawning and stuff so I need to go. More on the way.
Thank God for creativity... and free script writing software!

My Debut!!!

There I am with my stage "wife". In my Godmother's first ever stage play The Great White Throne Judgement, I play a rich stiff who struggles with making his own way in the World and trusting God to pave the way for him. The girl on my arm there plays his (Phillip's) wife, Vicki.
The sneak peek of this productions featured about two scenes from each part, 4 parts in all. It was this past weekend at the community center where my Godmother works and firends and family were all around us supporting us and enjoying themselves.
'Vicki' and I had been rehersing together one on one for like two months or more, leading up to the November 13th premier. We acted a fool first, did like a 1000 read thrus only, made pretend sets, tried to act for real, memorized lines, more read thrus, more "sets", and more memorization. Until finally, we felt were connecting with our characters and that the lines were beginning to take root in our brains.
Then the official rehersals began. We blew away my Godmother, the director, the first night we acted out out two parts for her! It was so gratifying. My heart was pouding and I was so nervous! But we did that over and over again with the director and soon with other castmembers and before we knew it the premier was on us.
All the memorizing and acting and blocking and costume hunting all came down to Saturday night!
The biggest victory for me Saturday night wasn't getting all of my lines right (which I did), or projecting, or the costume or getting over my nerves... it was making the two scenes last and enjoyable =) I told myself "I gotta make this last cause when it's over, the next people go on." Last thing I wanted to do was fly through everything and "miss" everything onstage. Like be out of body, just focusing on getting through it out of fear. I really didn't want that.
But that didn't happen. I felt everything. The lights on me, felt the audience, even identified a few laughs as friends and family. I went onstage where I needed to be at certain times, people could hear me and i felt like a married man selling out my self professed trust in God for status and selfmade success. Just as i was supposed to LOL. Its like everything connected. And I miss that feeling now because I felt all of it, I "was there" for all of it and know what it feels like.
And everyone was so proud and happy for me. My "wife" too! My brothers as well even though they were in different parts of the production but still.
A job welldone.
Now I am listening out for what God wants me to do next. The full produciton is in April and there is work ahead. I want to do my best as long as God has set it up for me to do it and I think He has.
Just one foot in front of the other as God orders my steps.
One last thing. My friend John went to join our Heavenly Father last week after fighting some blood conditions. But the Blood of Jesus that annointed his spirit was never in jeopardy and so God called him home to suffer no more. His other friends and family will come together this weekend to do more celebrating of his life.
God rest you Papa John, we miss you and strive to better connect with the Father as you showed us.
Much love!
