The Note was called Gurl Powah and these are the female perspectives that were provided.
Very insightful ;]...

Telepathy/ Mind Control/ Flash fowards-Visions.
The ability to burn, melt or drown anyone/anything she comes in contact with.

Duplication--she'd be able to split into multiple versions of herself, each one representing one of her personality traits--anger,sorry, etc.--and reabsorb them at will.
2. WHAT'S HER SUPER HERO NAME?
Sybillia.
Her name should be Neyoki.

5. WHAT'S HER WEAKNESS?
She's powerless in the face of numbers...math phobia!

6. HOW DID SHE GET HER POWERS?
Lab experiment gone wrong; a drug dealing with treatment for multiple personality disorder altered her genetic structure in the process.
Born of the sun and the moon.
Someone she loves was killed, or she was hurt, so she wants to get back.

One day, she feasted on a plate of Habanero's and when the waiter came around to check on her to ask how things were going, she opened up her mouth to answer him and a great amount of heat exploded from her mouth and melted the waiter. Then all of a sudden water started shooting and spraying from her eyes. All she has to do is think of Habenero's and she has the power to melt or to drown. It's up to her on how she wants to use her powers.

Someone that everybody likes.
Some racist, sexist tea-bagger who we'll name Bob for the time being who just so happens to be the reincarnation of Pinochet.
A depraved meteorologist by the name of Dr. Dopler (he was responsible for the bolt of lightning that struck her).

The thuggest girl on the block who always has on the freshest and latest gear and her posse following.
9. WHO IS HER SECRET IDENTITY?
Attorney.
Her regular name is Sybil (get it?) Storms

10. WHAT IS HER MOTIVATION?
It varies.
JUSTIIIIICE.
To protect her country from regressing to an 80s era Chile because of evil supernatural Bob Pinochet related forces. Also, she would actually wear clothes and be a butch, panromantic asexual. She would also be an anarcho-syndicalist Episcopalian who can knit an awesome sweater.
To fight crime and graduate from high school.
Keep her neighborhood from being oppressed by villain.
Restore the motor city.
To fight injustice!

(((AND NOW MY THOUGHTS)))
And that's the survey. Btw I've always loved that Rosie the Riveter painting, ever since I was a kid, I think I must have put her picture next to a picture of superman and thought she was his wife or sister of something. She just looks so strong and determined ya know. I guess at a young age i already knew the type of woman God had intended for me, one that exudes strength ^_^.
These answers show that too. Intelligent, driven, strong, yet vulnerable and internal women were described here... and all of them as voted by women have what it takes to be a hero.
I hope I can write women heroes like this in the future, super heroines that men and women alike will want to know about and follow.
Cuz there's more to women than big boobs and distress, a whole universe more I kno there is.
God will show me who these women are in my writing. Thanks to my lady friends for their responses and insights and wealth of ideas. i'll look more into many of these and maybe a story will come out of it.
If God permit I will do this.
Peace out!
Josiah!!! I found your blog by seeing the comment you left on Marcus' latest post (I check his blog occasionally, even though I'm not a follower); when you tagged me in the Superheroines note a few months back, I thought it was a really awesome idea (and it's cool to see my contribution in this entry along with everyone else's). :) I agree that there should definitely be stronger women in comic books, because, like you said, "There's more to women than big boobs and distress." Preach it!
ReplyDeleteAs a feminist, this entire post makes me happy. :) Great use of Rosie, too.
Thanks Rach =D
